Guest lokmilz Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Hi, theres somebody here that can gimme some hand on this, please, i been reading some content on the net about it, and i found some interesting things, for ex.The lock process work by an Algorithm. A8 - Ciphering Key Generating Algorithm A8 This algorithm is used in conjunction with Ki the authentication key and RAND (Random Number) to generate Kc (Cipher Key). This is used with A5/X to cipher the data stream between the MS (Mobile Station) and the GSM network. source: Click Here Please somebody could tell me how this process of unlock realy works? thanks in advance.
Guest martin Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 That's for data encryption across the radio interface and has nothing to do with SIM unlocking. Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest Kevlar-Source Posted May 21, 2005 Report Posted May 21, 2005 ok thank you to solve this issue, but can u gimme a hand here please, how works the unlock process, do u know how i can find this or how i can lear more about it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats an intresting question but it would take 124.5 years to answer it if anyone could have all the knowlege needed to do so. There are multiple type sof locks as well as the real ones [ metal ones ;) ] Your question is almost like "I wish to become a locksmith, can you teach me how in a post?" Don't take it personaly i am joking... If you are a bit more specific in your question maybe you get an answer... ;) Cheers

Guest BAZIL71 Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Hullo, I unlocked my c500 by obeying the instructions on Orange site... But I see my SPV c500 says "it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate "... Is "sim unlock" enough for installing any software ..? There are lots of sites selling software for unlocking... For example; http://www.mobile2mobile.net/unlock/RemoteunlockingSPV.htm Is it what I should do..?
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 SIM-unlocking won't allow you to install unsigned software - the only way is through the Orange site. Did you get the confirmation screen up on your phone ? It sounds like you maybe didn't, which is not uncommon. I would try it again.
Guest BAZIL71 Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Thanks buddy, Yes I saw writting- as described on the Orange site- my unlocking procedure was successfull... But sometimes it does the same, also I performed a hard reset a few weeks ago, and tried that unlock procedure as described by Orange again... I know off the topic but when I try to charge my phone from my PC using USB, it shows its done after a few minutes, and as I unplug it, it shows the real battery status... Another hard reset time for me..? ;))) Have a nice time all...
