Got my C500 today and I have a few questions...

1 - can you have an MP3 as a ringtone or does it have to be a WAV or MIDI? If you can how?

2 - Ive made a video and when i transfer it to my PC it doesnt work in windows media player or winamp. Is there something you have to do?

cheers,

you cant use mp3, but you can use wma, its similar to mp3 but tends to be smaller. after converting copy the files to the sd card and set as ringtones

to answer number 2, you will need a certain video codec on your pc most likely. I remember this issue with the e200s video.

What format are the videos in? .mp4?

I cant easily locate a codec, anyone else?

you can only use wav or wma's as ring tones i have a few wav's on my storage card that i have made with nero wave editor they work a treat as ringtones and they are not that big

All the info you need is covered recently in the forums if you look for it

Just make sure if you want to assign ringtones to individuals put them in Apps...sounds or whatever (can't remember right now :? )

The strange thing is... you can use wma's as ringtones, but not as an alarm tone or reminder etc! Very annoying.

Maybe its different if they are store don the mini-SD?
