Guest Srk Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Hi all, I have an mpx200 and it has reception problems because of the internal antenna. I was wondering if the mpx220 has any reception problems too... thanks
Guest angeljo008 Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 The reception is pretty good considering I live in the middle of Soybean and corn fields out in the middle of no where--Cingular is the only carrier that I get any kind of reception--I had a siemens once for about 3 days--no reception--the V600 1-2 bars--this one varies between 3-4 bars--hope this helps
Guest gsr264 Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I get much better reception with cingualr than with att. and the internal antenea has little to do with it it's the carrier that makes the difference.
Guest bradmatejo Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 The biggest problem with the mpx200 isn't the internal antena. It's that it doesn't handle the 850 gsm band, which is what most of the cingulair/att network uses. They started building their gsm network on 1900mhz, but when they started aggressively expanding their gsm they started using 850. Sucks for those of us who hopped on the gsm bandwagon early! I too have a mpx200 and my reception isn't great either (the att guy even told me it would be bad when he sold me the phone!) But the mpx220 is quad-band and includes the 850 mhz band, so the reception should be much better.
Guest Srk Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 this is great, I can't wait. I guess I will be buying my mpx220 sometime this week. Thanks for all the replies..... Serkan
Guest Michael95GT Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 RF is EXCELLENT!!! But then Cingulars network in this area(West Tennessee) is topnotch. It is easily equal to my V600 and/or T616 as phone, but as a toy, it absolutely blows everthing else away!!!! Get it, you won't regret it!! ^_^/ :D/
Guest garyore Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Well, AT&T share the same GSM system in boca raton, fl. I had the mpx200 and canceled my service with AT&T and went to sprint since I could not get a good signal where I live. I bought a MPX220 today and for the first time I am getting a GSM signal in my home. wow e wow... it finally works. Gary
Guest shad0walker5 Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I recently changed the housing on my MPx220 to the black one and now I'm having problems with signal strength. This didn't happen when I had the original housing on it..... Could it be an antenna problem? If so, any suggestions as to how I can fix that? Thanks!
