Guest Nos Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of these phones in the coming month, but I was wondering if the phone could share a broadband internet connection with my PC, either via USB or BT. Is this possible or is it only possible for a PC/Laptop to share the phones GPRS connection?
Guest Vector Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Yep, you can use the Computer's internet connection on the phone by using a passthrough connection, either via USB, or Bluetooth ^_^
Guest pisquee Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Yes, what you are thinking about is called "Pass Through Internet" and is possible via miniUSB cable or BT
Guest Nos Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Fantastic! Just got to wait for more to come in stock on the Orange website and I'll be part of the gang! ^_^
Guest the_ugly_north Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Nos. The 'in stock' is not updated that quickly. Give Orange Customer Services a call and order it direct they can tell you stock immediately.
Guest AJMouse Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 How does this internet via usb thing work? I used the cable (mini usb provided by orange) to connect to my pc, but when I start up internet explorer on my spv, I get the GPRS logo at the top of the screen. So how exactly do I get this "Pass Through Internet" to work?
Guest Confucious Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 AJMouse - If you do a search for Pass though you will find the answer here http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...&highlight=pass among other places ^_^
