Blocking any contact from a known number

Is there any way to block a number from phoning, texting, mms, etc.

There are times when I am trying to do something more important, than recieving junk from someone, who I know.

I'd just like an option that could be enabled, when I don't want to be disturbed by selected numbers and disabled when I not so busy.

any ideas?

getting orange to block a number is not what would be required.

There is a program that can block selected mobile numbers for incoming calls and I think it's called smartfilter. You will need to do a google search for it though ^_^

Smartfilter however, will only divert selected people to answer machine. I can't block SMSs and MMSs. You'll have to cough up for the Pro edition if you want the number blacklist to auto change.

My solution would be to tell this person to stop sending you junk. ^_^

It's a couple of people at work, who will occasionaly phone or text for the fun of it, just to have a laugh...

sometimes I am doing something on my mobile, which I don't want them doing this.

telling them would not work, they would not listen ^_^

I have a solution. Flight Mode. Shouldnt be using your phone at work anyway! ;-)

I already use flight mode... and its lunch time when it happens...

I need to be connected to the network though, so I can connect to the net.

If it's just for lunch time, you could divert all calls to answering machine. Would still leave you a network connection for surfing and stuff.

I've got an e200 so the wording might be slightly different

Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding > Unconditional

Tick enable call forwarding and type in a number.

07973100123 is your answering machine, if you're on Orange contract (maybe PAYG), or you could just divert it back to the people who are calling you.

Note you will be charged for the your mobile > forwarded number leg. Diverting to answering machine could be free, but not sure.

You could try setting MMS to "Send/Receive manually" to stop them (but I think you'll still get the sms notification of the MMS), or even deleting your MMS settings altogether if you don't use MMS.

It depends on what you are trying to do when these calls/messages come in.

Why not just use the silent profile, or edit a profile so that the phone does nothing at all - not even vibrate?
