Guest phonemag Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 I recently performed a hard reset the MPx220 due to a major issue. The hard reset was successful, and the device remained “unlocked”. However, I discovered that my favorite feature is now broke. Hmmm, what does “broke” mean? Simply I’m unable to surf the web. Internet Explorer immediately shuts down the moment it makes connection with any website. I’ve quadtriple checked that the GPRS settings were correct by retrieving mail from my IMAP account as well as successfully connecting to MSN messenger. I didn’t experience any problems with surfing the web with Opera either. Hey if you performed a hard reset and experienced the same problem, drop me an email to [email protected] . Guest cortez Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 i had to perform a hard-reset out of the box in order to get the the "Phone-Settings" menu, which controls Clear-Type, etc. i did not have any problems with IE after the hard-reset. fyi, i'm using T-Mobile (USA) w/4.99 TZones.
Guest phonemag Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 If you're on T-Zone, are you able ot surf the web? I thought that T-Zone only allows you to surf within T-Mo's network? I'm able to get to "all" the sites that are listed in the "short cut" list. However, when keying in a site like "www.google.com" will cause IE to shutdown as soon as it connects with the site. i had to perform a http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>hard-reset out of the box in order to get the the "Phone-Settings" menu, which controls Clear-Type, etc. i did not have any problems with IE after the http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>hard-reset. fyi, i'm using T-Mobile (USA) w/4.99 TZones.
Guest cortez Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 when i attempt to go to www.google.com or wap.google.com it says "connecting" and the flag-icon waves, but it doesn't connect (after 10 minutes). i don't know if this is a limitation of TZones or if something is wrong as a result of the hard-reset... i can however, visit and login to MSN/Hotmail and get to ESPN. i'll post an update here if i'm able to connect to the google sites...
Guest gsr264 Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 From what I understand t-zones is like t-mobiles internal sites. I dont think you can access the 'net or make downloads.
Guest phonemag Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Sufing the web with the MPx220 is one of the most enjoyable feature. Thank goodness for Opera until we can straighten this bug out.
Guest gsr264 Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 How is opera any better than IE? I might have missed something, but they seem to be the same...
Guest sprouts42 Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Opera has a much better way of displaying the pages than IE.
Guest gsr264 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'm listening... even though IE has 3 different ways to display pages?
