Guest eilsoe Posted December 21, 2002 Report Posted December 21, 2002 Hei All!! Something strange... I have this sweet pic of garfield having been beaten up by a dog, right? Now, I edit it to suit myself in photoshop, and save, move to the phone, and choose as background, no problems there... BUT, when it shows on the SPV, the colors have been brightened up, or well, explained differently, the saturation has gone down.. it's just not as rich as before... Can it be corrected in any way? How many colors does this baby support?
Guest zenabi Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 I haven't experienced your problem, but I'll try and help. Since it's a cartoon picture, try and save it as a gif file, hopefully reducing the picture to 256 colours won't degrade it too much. Upload it and see how it looks. Also, make sure the picture fits on the screen (maximum 176x180). How many colors does this baby support? About 65,000
Guest eilsoe Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 Thx Zen, i'll try the gif way... I love my new home screen :D Easy and to the point 8)
Guest eilsoe Posted December 22, 2002 Report Posted December 22, 2002 Hm, didn't work the gif way... how annoying... :x
Guest zenabi Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 I copied a few images to test and I see what you mean now. I just think it's the calibration differences of your PC monitor and the SPV screen, and probably the fact that the SPV is FRONT lighted as opposed to back (correct me if I'm wrong!). I guess a solution for now is to make the colours bolder in a graphics app before you upload to the SPV.
Guest Shuflie Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Don't know if that will help any or not. I think that the phone just tones down any very bright primary colours so that text can be read when it is over the pics. Don't know why they bothered as it can still be illegible at times.
Guest Rob.P Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 If you are using Photoshop, try setting up a different colour profile, that way what you see on your monitor will be closer to what you see on your SPV, if I do one I'll post it on the forum.
