Guest Kharn Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem? I wish to use my own mp3's, wma's and wav's as ringtones, however after placing the files on my phone I can not select them as ringtones in the sound menu (they simply don't appear). I can access the files as music via Media Player, but that is of no use to me. Generally I place the files in the following location (although I have tried others): Storage>Sounds Any and all help appreciated ^_^
Guest squall Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Put the wma files on the storage card, mp3s arent supported and wav files are little large. Putting them on the storage card ensure the phone memory doesnt get filled up. If the memory does become full the phone will slow and you will have errors/bugs etc
Guest Djarid Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I have found they only get picked up if they are in either "StorageMy Documents" or "Storage CardMy Documents" Basically they have to be in the top level of the My Documents folder on the phone or the card to be picked up in the ringtone selection dialog. Shame about not being able to use MP3s and strange too.
Guest squall Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 no if you put them on the root of the sd card (not in a folder) it works fine ^_^
Guest Kharn Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Cheers people. I haven't tried anything yet but I will tomorrow and I'll let you know if it works or not. Thanks again. ^_^
Guest ukmidsguy Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Can I just get confirmation that MP3 files are not supported as ringtones on the C500 then?
Guest Kharn Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Well, I finally managed to try it out and placing the file in my Storage root directory did the job just fine. So thanks again everyone. ukmidsguy: It's true, the phone definitey doesn't support mp3's as ringtones. It's quite annoying. ^_^
