Is this the future?

Having seen this ... it got me thinking.

Is this the new way to buy music?

Can you copy the music from the card to your PC then burn it to a PC?

Could it be a cheap way to buy large capacity memory cards?

Will it catch on?

id have thought they may remove the lock switch from the card to prevent you deleting the songs:?

I wouldnt do it, i prefer buying songs off net, the songs i like rather than buying a full album.

I guess how you can use the music on the card depends on whther the music on the card has any DRM and to what extent it is DRMed and whether the phone/PC you want to use the card with has software with compatible DRMed softwares.

Multimedia Memory Cards (MMC) can hold more than one gigabyte of data - the equivalent of about one-and-a-half compact discs.

Correct if we are talking about data, but audio / mp3, wma, ogg etc wise 1Gb can hold far more that one and a half CDs! I've got 5 albums, 6 hours of little britain (original R4 series) plus 300Mb for apps on mine.

I personally can't see how this will take off with 40Gb+ ipods and mp3 players about. Plug imagine carrying your entire CD collection around all on different cards!

I guess they are talking about actual CD quality (uncompressed audio) If you are paying money for it, why buy it compressed?

Doh! Fair point, and I should have spotted that working in audio

Thirty quid ?

They're having a laugh

Not if the music is still CD Quality and it comes on a 1GB card ^_^
