Guest goe602 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I've put a few mp3s on my phone to use as personalized rings and stuff, but heres my problem... I want to use some of mine for the text message sound and alarms and such, but they wont show. They show as an option for ring tones, but not for the reminders/alarms/messages/etc. In my manual it says "use your own sound for ring tones/notifications/reminders: do this blah blah blah" my mp3s are in the right folder (.../app data/sounds) any idea why theyre not showing up? thanks
Guest squall Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 on the c500 something similar happens with the wma files (mp3 arent supported as ringtones) You have to conver the file to a .wav and put it in (.../app data/Sounds) or edit the registery to point to the file you want to use. It may not be the same on the mpx220 but good luck!
Guest Jerry Raia Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 On the 220 its /storage/application data/sounds
Guest goe602 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 On the 220 its /storage/application data/sounds Thats the folder I put them in.... Could someone please tell me how to change the registry to choose the right mp3 from there? Thank you.
Guest Jerry Raia Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Good, but are they in .wav format?
Guest goe602 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 yea i just tried it... wavs work, but mp3s dont =[ if you change the registry could I get it to play the mp3s? cuz these wavs are way too big
Guest gsr264 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Just use the jeyo personalizer. Quick and painless.
Guest goe602 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 i installed jeyo and it seems cool... but when i try to change sounds or images and stuff, none of the mp3s or pics i put on my phone show up...
Guest McHale Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 some of the ringtones on the MPx220 are mp3s. Check the windows directory...
Guest goe602 Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 i went into the windows directory and saw those mp3s. I copied a couple of my own mp3s into that directory and they still dont come up as an option o_O
Guest CodesRaider Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 I don't think Windows Mobile supports mp3 ringtone. They only support wav, midi and wma. Another tips is that you can store the wav/midi/wma files under /mounted volume/my documents (your SD card). The Windows automatically recognised that and let you set those files as ringtone and message tone. But using this method, you can't set invididual ringtone for contacts.
Guest goe602 Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 well i have personalized rings right now that are mp3s... but the mp3s simply dont show up for alerts/reminders/sms/etc =[ i dont get it...
