MPX220 Sync Problems!!

Okay, let me start by saying that I'm a Smartphone newbie (I've been a Palm user forever and a pretty satisfied Treo user for two years). So I decided to give the MPx220 a try. Running Cingular branded model on T-Mobile. Phone works fine, synch of contacts, etc. is okay, yada, yada . . .

Here's the problem. I tried to install several third-party smartphone apps last night, including Keep Track and Splash ID. The apps install fine on the phone and PC, but the sync will not occur. When I look in the active synch options, these apps appear there, but there is no check box next to them to enable synch (as there is with contacts, calendar, etc.). In searching for help last night, I read a few things about the phone carriers requiring applications to be signed/certified a special way or they won't run. Is this the problem I am experiencing? If so, this phone is completely useless to me.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

i've put unsigned apps on mine with no problems. mine is also a cingular branded model

I havent heard of this. I'm not familiar with Splash Id or Keep Track...

May be that the 2003 SE OS or the processor is not supported by the install/applications.
