Guest bnl107 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I stopped by my local Best Buy (Whitehall, PA) last night to check out the new MPx220. I've owned a MPx200 since they first came out and have been looking forward to upgrading to the 220 because of so many problems with my current phone (i.e. poor reception, freezing, etc). To my amazement, the display phone was already broken! The phone would power on, but the screen just lit up blank and the outer display was jumbled. I called the sales rep over and he seemed embarrassed after power cycling it two or three times that it still did not work. His only explanation was that, "the demo phones take a lot of abuse". Its only been on the market for 24 hours, how much abuse could it have had!?!
Guest goe602 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I work at best buy and trust me, 24 hours is more than enough time for some punk kids to break a display =
Guest pisquee Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 was a hard reset tried, or just power cycling? go back to the store and try a hard reset ... you could really impress the staf if you can fix their phone ... ask them for a special deal on a new phone if you can fix it!
