Guest rossy Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I have recently bought a C500 and am trying to set up my email. I have checked the settings numerous times and all of these seem corrrect. However, whenever I try to retreive my email, it hangs on 'Connecting...' and so no messages are retrieved. The GPRS connections is ok as I can browse the web with no problems. Any ideas???? Many thanks
Guest bowman Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Are you trying to acccess an orange.net account??? After several months I am still having problems downloading mail from orange.net. When I sopke to orange initially they said that there was a compatibility problem with the service and C500 and you just had to keep trying. Once a connection had been made they discovered the connection issue was mostly fixed......all you have to do then is convince the phone to download the headers! I am still trying.
Guest rossy Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 No I am trying to acess a different POP 3 account. I previously had a P900 and had no problems accessing my mail on this. I really need to be able to access mail through my phone, so all help is well appreciated.
Guest stephen.gazard Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I know it is no help - but I have exactly the same problem trying to access my btinternet account
Guest jim.mason Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Me too, trying to access my Tiscali.co.uk. Would really appreciate being able to sort this, any ideas out there. I had an MPX200 before and had no problems at all on this. Jim
Guest zoltix Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 bowman - have you double checked your orange.net account username. If your email a/c is [email protected] your username is almost certainly NOT joebloggs. Mine is a random mix of letters and digits that I did not pick but was given at the account setup stage. You don't need it to log in to your a/c from your PC but you do from a mobile device. I can't see a way of finding it out if you missed it at the setup stage.
