Guest peterweg Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I bought the original SPV. Spent hours getting the email working, setup an orange account. It was made particulary difficult because the orange web site insisted on a phone number and password as well as email userid and password. Make a mistake and .. your banned. So when the SPv lost my email setting I never bothered going through the hell again. Now, new c500. And its exactly the same. Its a nightmare to setup email, painfully enter passwords not quite sure what format its should be (Enter your name, email address, login ID and Password. WTF ) To cap it all Forgot your password? click here and we will tell you how much it cost to find it out. Orange are charging top dollar for data transfer and they make you pay to find out your password. I leave email to my desktop, its just stupid for a phone. Voice, SMS and IM are the way to go.
Guest pisquee Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 you can use any pop account with your spv, it doesn't have to be an orange.net one
Guest Confucious Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I have managed to set up the two main POP3 accounts I use, no problem, but I can't get my Orange.net account to work. What do you put in for username etc. ?
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Same username and password as when you first opened the account. You only use your phone number if you access your email on their website. Yes, it is a pain and I rarely use it. Then again it has taken me 15 minutes to log into my LUFC TV account for similar reasons. Sometimes internet security is taken to stupid levels
