Guest bigneeker Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 hey how do i change add the port in gprs settings? i went to data connection and to the page where you can input primary dns address but i would like to add a port. on my nokia it has a seperate input area for ports or i can just a colon adn then the port but that doesnt work on the c500. i am trying to configure it so that i can access for example 124.145.156.90:8080. its the 8080 that i cant add for some reason. can anyone help me.
Guest Confucious Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 8080 is the default internet port and I presume it uses this by default. You shouldn't need to change it (unless you're doing somnething really strange ^_^)
Guest bigneeker Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 i am trying to get free gprs on tmobile to work. my wap and interent dont work at all. its driving me crazy. i spent 7 hours looking at different website. on my nokia 6230, it worked but only when i added the 8080 port. on my dopod it doesnt work at all. i would like it to work on my smarphone and i would also like it to work so i can use my ppc or palm to connect to my smartphone through bluetooth and use it as a modem. any help? thanks
Guest Confucious Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 What happens when you dial *99#? Does it connect?
Guest bigneeker Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 you mean from the ppc? my gprs doesnt work at all on my smartphone, i first have to get it to work on my dopod before i connect my ppc or palm to it. thats anohter problem to worry about.
Guest Confucious Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Dial *99# from your ophone to connect to GPRS. How else are you trying to connect to GPRS?
Guest bigneeker Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 well i usually just open up ie or some browser and then type in a webpage and it loads except that doesnt work on my dopod. the little g comes in the corner for a second adn then disappears. i tried manually doing it by dialing *99# and it just says "waiting..." on my phone.
