Guest markhammill Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 I'm sure I saw an app to copy files from the SD card to the /windows directory when restarting your phone. Does anyone know if it exsists.

Guest markhammill Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 I was wondering if there was something that would copy the background files for the C500 plugin to the windows directory when I turn on my phone
Guest midnight Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 i dont think you can overwrite the files on the C500 to be honest, they've locked it down tighter than previous phones also, it can use any background files from the Storage/Application Data/Home directory anyway cant it?
Guest markhammill Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Hi Midnight, Sorry I didn't explain very well. The two files I want to replace are the ones for the icons of the C500 homescreen plugin: HomeScreen_MenuS.bmh and HomeScreen_MenuF.bmh As they get replaced by the default ones everytime the phone is turned on. I was looking for an app that could overwrite them with my replacements automatically at startup. I was sure I had tried an app that did this but I had a feeling that it might have been buggy anyway. It was a solution to applying a tweak, custom settings menu or something like that.
Guest crafty Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 there's an app called 'patcher' but that doesn't work - i've been in contact with the author testing the latest version of it but with no joy ^_^ Muff mentioned developing one at one point but he's a very busy man and hasn't done it yet.
Guest midnight Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 ah, the icons, ok, yeh, they can be replaced, errr, we where gonna make an app to do this once, copying from a folder in Storage to Windows on boot (including a App to change the copy from dir), but we're busy getting other stuff ready for the meet at the mo so wont have time to do it just yet.
Guest markhammill Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Ah patcher, that's the one I'll look forward the the app, cheers for the news Midnight

You might be able to do it with a VBScript and MicroHost... http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=561776
