Numer 4 Keypad bug?

Hi, i think ive found a problem with phone.

From the home screen when a number is pressed, say 6 the display shows 6 and then contacts underneath starting with M,N or O. However when i press 4 it should display contacts starting with G,H or I, yet mine starts from begining of contact list A? is the a bug individual to my phone? Cheers!

This does not happen on mine - 4 takes me to G in contacts.

Seems like it is specific to your phone.

I think I've worked out what's happening. I get exactly the same thing as you. I think the reason for it is that the filter using the keypad is applied to the contact name and the phone number itself. Since almost the phone numbers in my phone are in the UK, so start +44, the filter created using the 4 key isn't very useful.

no, it is usefull, the idea is you can type in part of someones number and it shows the contacts with that number, so not only does the prediction work for names it works for numbers aswell.

If you are in the UK you dont have to start your contacts with +44 by the way.

Oh i understand thanks a lot but surley to go off both numbers and letters is not too helpful i mean how many people store just numbers in their phone without a contact name? cheers anyway i think il go through my phone book and get rid of +44!

By not useful, what I meant was that since the majority of my numbers include the number 4, the filter provided by pressing 4 isn't very useful. I agree that filtering on both name and number is uesful. The reason I start all my numbers with +44 is so I can easily use the phone overseas if needed.
