Guest FrankyG Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Hi, It's nearly time for a new phone, upgrading from mpx200. I called O to ask them to cancel my contract and provide PAC...quickly passed to disconnections who actually tried quite hard to keep me as an Orange customer. (The nice girl did have my last years bills on screen..which probably made all the difference!) Anyhow, they offered me 500 mins x-net + 180 text + £50 credit (to buy a bluetooth headset) with free C500 (black or silver) for £32/month...which seems pretty good. Is anyone aware of good deals from UK retailers that I might consider as an alternative? I really don't mind losing my current mobile number. Thanks for any pointers! Cheers
Guest ablufia Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 FrankyG crikey  that sounds a great deal. as a new orange customer i'm paying £27 pcm for 120 xnetwork (plus 120 evening free) and 30 text messages (plus £100 cashback) i had a good looky round before i got my C500 on orange - and that was the best deal i could find - and that was last wednesday... ^_^
Guest Saracen Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 What was you spend like FrankyG? I'm, waiting till my 11th month on 7th Nov, to get my upgrade through retentions. THey have already said they'll offer me the Select 500 tarrif.
Guest FrankyG Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Well for starters... £150 for Feb (australia), £300 in April (in France) and £180 in Sept (Prague) plus average of £40/month when I'm the UK...maybe Orange actually value my custom
Guest Saracen Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Well, okay that makes sense, I notch up around £50-70 a month. Will see what they say.
Guest sgannon Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 If you're just looking for a cheap way to get the C500, I got mine from MobilesUK. Phone was free, OVP Anytime 100 contract with 10 months at half price (£11 per month). Change the tariff to the £13 one after month 10 and total price over 12 months is just £136. Next day delivery too. ^_^

As cheap as getting the phone on pay as you go i would think.... Just cancel the contract after 12 months and keep the phone then convert to PAYG. Thats cheaper than buying the phone on PAYG for £200 in the first place!
