Guest magpieant Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Hi everyone. I have just been given a friends old SPV. So far, I have unlocked the phone (using a program called SPVUnlock2.exe) so that it works with an o2 SIM card. I have also installed the latest ROM - doing a full reset. However, the phone seems very 'hit and miss' when making calls. I can recieve all calls fine, as well as send and receive texts. BUT, when I try to make a call, sometime I just get 3 beeps then nothing else, other times it connects me. I have also tried reinstalling an Orange SIM Card and get exactly the same problems. Please can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
Guest martin Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 This is usually caused by accidently switching to line 2 for outgoing calls. Try pressing and holding down the # key or goto Settings-Telephony-Call options to change back to line 1 ^_^
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Welcome to the site :D Three beeps just means that the person on the other end is already on another call. The phone beeps rather than gives you the engaged tone. EDIT or try what martin said above ^_^
Guest magpieant Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Hi lads .... Thanks for the welcome and the tips .... BUT .... I have tried it using BOTH lines - with the same results! It is deffo NOT the engaged tone as I have also been trying it on my own landline which I know is not engaged (having just managed to chuck the missus off it!!!!! ) Saying that, as if to prove me wrong, the phone seems to be working now .... although it's tending to do this. Anymore answers greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest SteveM2004 Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Hi Martin, I know this thread's pretty old now but I just wnated to say thanks for posting your tip. It might not have sorted out the original chap's problem but it certainly did mine. 8) I've no idea how it got switched to line two though. :?: Cheers Steve
Guest martin Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 No problems Steve :D I've done exactly the same thing before  I think it's usually caused by holding down the # key when on the homescreen as this switches to line 2. Oh and welcome to MoDaCo :(
