O2 XDA II or Orange SPV M1000????

I am wondering and hoping that there's someone out there who can give me some help. Am upgrading (or possibly changing networks) my old Motorola MPx200 and am looking at the full PDA style phone. I just can't decide whether or not to go for the Orange SPV M1000 or the O2 XDA II. Both phones look identical - can someone confirm the specs for both or just tell me that they are actually identical in spec?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations? I've been with Orange through my entire life but now that networks are giving cross-network minutes, it really doesn't matter which network I'm on. Does anyone have one of these phones? I'm thinking that I'll keep the bluetooth headset attached at all times so it doesn't look like I have a brick next to my head! Does anyone know what the battery life will be like if I do this?

If anyone has any tips, please, please let me know!

Jon

They ARE identical - at least in hardware terms.

The cosmetic design of the units are slightly different, in that the XDA2 uses sleak teardrop shaped buttons, as opposed to Orange's circular ones.

But hardware-wise, it is one and the same device.

Another consideration is the SOFTWARE side of things, and whilst it is again, much the same, the O2 Includes an O2 branded 'Active' skin or interface that you can use, that makes it easy from the homescreen to send a video, check your diary etc.

But the Orange ROM is slightly newer, and includes a newer MMS client, Camera app etc.

The choice will ultimately be yours though - and dont forget the NEW XDA's are out now (Orange M2000, O2 XDA2s), with a slide out qwerty keyboard.

So if you DO get the XDA2 or the M1000, you are already buying an OLD device as it were.

Personally i would advise getting the xda2.The reason being i know a couple of people with the orange version and i have had the o2 one as indeed have a few friends.Perhaps its just luck but the orange one does seem more prone to crash and i also feel that for technical stuff o2 are that slight bit better in giving advice.(Personal experiance only there) but that is specific to the pda phones.I also think that will change but bear in mind orange have only really joined that segment of the market preferring in the past to stick to spv type phones .I know they are similair but ultimately still slightly different

Hope that helps
