Guest scaryscotsman Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Gutted to hear about the sudden death of the legend that was John Peel.
Guest Flubster Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 ^_^ Only reason I used to listen to radio one. He'll be sadly missed Flubster
Guest James Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Yeah, gutted.... he was a legend of the airways! always loved to listen just to hear those rare banging Gabba tracks... ^_^ Rest in Peace...
Guest zarquon Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 It has to be said that it has upset me more than I could have predicted. I have been listening to his show for thirty years. Perhaps someone should make a John Peel memorial phone. It should cut you half way through conversations, GPRS should run at the wrong speed and occasionally it should dial a completely different number to the one you keyed in... Perhaps we should nominate the most John Peel like phone we have ever come across... How about the original Dancall Orange phone. Okay I know this was before GPRS but it had the other two features licked.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Funniest moment i can remember from John Peel's show is after Chris Moyles had used his studio earlier in the day - fantastic fun as random jingles came out where serious tracks should be ^_^ I will miss him and his show :D
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 He'll be sorely missed by the whole music industry and all fans of wonderful music. It's like losing a member of the family.

Sounds like just about any phone on 3 in the UK ^_^
Guest Pondrew Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Always enjoyed a good chuckle when listening to his 'Home Truths' show too. He'll be missed.
