C500 can not remove application lock via OTA

HELP!!!!!!!! Please someone help. This is now seriously doing my head in - seem to have tried everything but still cant get rid of the application lock. Got a new SPV C500 and have sim unlocked it (using my 02 sim) I have been to http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx and filled in all my details (put my number in as 07xxxxxxxxx) and I receive the screen saying that the "Your handset has had its certificate security disabled." But low and behold everytime I try to install any unsigned apps I get errors and install fails. With Sprite Backup (running the cab file on the phone) I get the msg that program was not designed for the phone....if I try again I get installation failed.....cant be installled because it is not digitally signed.....so I presume that the app lock is still active. I have tried the OTA thing about 20 odd times now and everytime I get the msg that "Your handset has had its certificate security disabled." Have tried different formats for my number (dont receive anything for +447xxxxxxxxx but do for +44 7xxxxxxxxx) Tried the orange register app and that seems to do nothingonly options are register launch lock and quit! The screen displays my imei number and telephone number ok and says registered but lock is either running or sometimes its not running but within seconds of opening the app becomes running tried both my 02 and orange sim in but it makes no difference. Any body shed some light on this? Please all I want to do is be able to put sprite back up on my phone and the unstable release of beta player! TIA - Daz.

Cheers for that Disco Stu.....knew it would be something simple but I couldnt get it - guess I should not be trying to update my phone when hungover on Sat/Sun must say I wasn't at my sharpest!

Thought that would have solved my problem but still no luck :-( used the proper link filled in details get message from orange but stilll cant install sprite backup or beta player (unstable). Anyone else have any ideas why the OTA is not working? Even though it reports success.

Write Orange at [email protected] and ask for the decert app instead. I have never heard of a C500 that couldn't install all apps, after using the new version of that. Provided the downloaded apps actually ARE the right ones for the phone! :-)

Admit it, we've all downloaded the Pocket PC version when we're rushing !

Ok I win the dime bar of week comp for d/l the wrong app! D'oh and double d'oh! After getting activesync to work over bluetooth (eventually) I go and do something stupid like d/l the wrong version of an app.....must also learn not to jump to conclusions, the solution to the problem is normally the most obvious! Cheeers for the helping hand - I will not be downloading the wrong version app again!
