Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 I see soccer games, tennis games, racing games, golf games, and other types of sports games. But can someone please tell me why they dont have any hockey games out for the PPC or Smartphone?
Guest Confucious Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Because not enough people like hockey to make it worthwhile? :?
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Not enough people like hockey to make it worth while? :? Oh, you must be from the US. Yup that's gotta be it. ^_^
Guest midnight Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 must admit, i cant see a hockey game selling all that well, same goes for American Football to be honest. For the moment at least, that may change when/if the USA market for MS Smartphones really takes off.
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 I dunno, I guess you have a point. But still, there should be a hockey game out! lol
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Hockey and American football are probably the two most sold console games in the US. I'd personally look foward to both being on the smartphone platform. GO EAGLES! GO FLYERS!
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Yup, same here. Personally......I think Hockey is more globally played than even baseball. Most of the European countries play way more hockey than baseball. And like encece said, Hockey and Football are the most sold console games every year. I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who would love to have one for the Smartphone. If anyone knows of any in development let me know. Thanks.
Guest midnight Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 in the US they are, not in europe, football (soccer) games sell way more in Europe, and theres only 1 of those on the Smartphone (and as far as i'm aware, even that hasnt sold all that well)
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Theres actually a few soccer games out for mobiles. They have Fifa 2004 for Java Based phones, as well as Total Soccer and Trick Soccer for Smartphones.
Guest RT87 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 There was some Hockey games built with J2ME but the main problem is hockey is such a fast game it becomes unplayable and hard to control. Maybe a Hockey Managment game would be pretty good.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Jamdat has baseball, basketball, (Amer) Football & hockey for other phone. Maybe they'll port them over to the smartphone one day. Hockey http://www.jamdat.com/JamdatWeb/Catalog/US...4/product-23381 Football http://www.jamdat.com/JamdatWeb/Catalog/US...w/product-23442
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 They have some pretty cool J2ME games made by Fox Sports. http://wgamer.com/gamedir/?maker=264&search=1 They have hockey and football listed there. Does anyone know where I could get these and if they would work on the DeltaMIDP emulator. Hoping to run them on the MPx200. Thanks.
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Does you know what platform those JAMDAT games are for?
Guest midnight Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 when we talk about games for ms smartphone we dont usually mean java games, hence there being only 1 proper soccer game for the ms smartphone.
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Midnight, you that mixed up. Trick Soccer and Total Soccer are available for the Smartphone. The Fifa 2004 is a Java Midlet. So that's 2 actual soccer games meant for the smartphone.
Guest James Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Midnight, you that mixed up. wooo, chill dude ^_^
Guest kfernandes29 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 LOL Sorry, I was tired. I meant "Midnight, you mixed that up". And in the previous post I meant to type "Do you know....." not "Does you know...." Just realized that. Don't wanna sound like an idiot but it's too late to edit the posts. LOL
Guest midnight Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 trick soccer aint a proper soccer game though ^_^
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 More importantly, where's the Smartphone port of Brian Lara Cricket ?!?
