is there any way to move the image i use in my signature over to the left (so it sits below 'not to scale ;)') ?

Unless there is some hidden BBCode that we are not priv to... then it appears not!

Just add "not to scale" on the graphic... that might be easier...

no - i just wanted the image on the left - not bothered really about the 'not to scale' bit...

bugger ^_^

I had a quick play yesterday and couldn't find a way - I would assume if it could be domne someone would have told you by now - It's a pain isn't it?

if you have a look at Gears second posting here you can see the 'CoolSmartPhone' logo is on the left.

i've PM'd Gears to ask the secret - will post the answer ASAP !

So it can be done! I was going to sugest putting a big empty space in the picture to the right but that would be a total botch and probably wouldn't work with different screen res's.

cant you just stick some HTML code in the sig telling it to align to the left?

Do align tags work? phonehistory.jpg

edit/ yes they do ^_^

<img align="left" src="link to pic" />

You need to send a PM to Paul[MVP] and request that he turn HTML on in your sig.

Gears is not doing anything special other than:

<a href="http://www....."><img src="http://www.....sig.jpg" border=0"></a>

I've got a mixture of BBcode and HTML in mine and have never asked Paul, should've I?

That is if your HTML is turned off.

Ferrett, yours is turned on.

Maybe there is a rule that says you need a certain number of posts to have HTML tags turned on. I remember asking him to turn them on but that was in 2003 so things may have changed since then.

I dont think so....but PM Paul and request HTML in sigs turned on.

Are you sure? Works for me (looks down)

It'll say in your profile if html is on or off in your signature settings

Yes - my HTML is off - PM'ed Paul as suggested but no response - I'm presuming you have to have a minimum number of posts before HTML is turned on...

ah well

In which case it can't be a minimum number of posts then...

How bizarre :?:

It worked for me. Can you just confirm the code you are trying? (just in case you are overlooking something)

I was trying to use;

But in my profile it says HTML is off...if you look at my sig now - you can see what should work if HTML was on...

Mine says:

Signature:

This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 1000 character limit

HTML is ON

BBCode is ON

Smilies are ON

Has Paul not replied to your PM?

No - just presumed he was too busy...

A little bit further down your "Profile" page from the signature stuff, there are a couple of radio buttons for "Always allow BBCode" and "Always allow HTML".

If you toggle the HTML button to "on", then revisit your 'Profile' page, the bit near the signature panel will now read "HTML is ON".

Can we realy have missed something so obvious? Judging by ablufia's sig the answer is yes!
