I notice that when i send an mms my spv connects to the internet thru GPRS. After the msg is sendt i push "red phone" button but it does not disconnect.

I know it is not a problem but i still dont like having my gprs turned on all the time.

Anybody know how to switch it off?? i am having to reboot which is annoying.

Why don't you want to leave it connected?

If you must disconnect then hold down the Home key and select the option ^_^

I've got the Audiovox smt5600 (same device but from ATTWS) and holding down the home button does nothing except bring up pIE favorites.

Is that different then the c500? is there any other way to kill off a GPRS connection?

You are pressing the key above the rocker key on the legt hand side with the picture of the house (Is it the same on the audiovox?) and holding it down. I justt went into pIE and the left hand soft key was labeled "Home" and when I pressed it I just got favourites. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

When I hold down the home button, I get pIE. Then I can click the left soft key to get the favorites, but how would I disconnect the GPRS from here? There is no option for that here.

no, I'm pressing the home button as you explained earlier. It sounds like the audiovox has a different feature assoicated with this button then it did on the c500

Well, my C500 brings up the quicklist with 2 options - disconnect GPRS and bluetooth setup.

But does it matter that GPRS is connected all the time?

No, it doesn't matter.

GPRS is designed to be connected all the time, but you only pay for the data actually transferred.

Press the power button on the top off 5600 to pull up the Quick List, select Flight mode, let phone turn off all radio signals, then return to Quick List and turn off Flight Mode. This is the fastest way (10 sec.) to turn off the last GPRS session (not signal). Plus it frees up a little memory for your applications.

You can set the GPRS time out as well.

Start > Settings > Data Connections > Menu > Options

"Idle Disconnect After:"
