Skipping letters when I type on the keypad

I find that more and more often, when I type messages the keypad is skipping. For instance, when I push the number 6, two times for the letter "n", I get the next letter, "o" or sometimes the number 6. Do you think this is a bad keypad. My phone is about 6 months old and it has worked very good up until lately.

my phone is only 1 month old and I get the same thing. it is quite annoying but it just started happening to me a week ago. I don't know the reason. If my volume is up I can actually hear an additional key press tone (even though I did not press the key an additional time) and then it skips to the next character. It is like the phone is doing it itself.

well, i remember some posts on some forum said about that improve keypad performance by modify a value in registery. Microsoft have a reserved delay on every keystroke...
