Guest rvonoven Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 I am having problems in connecting my SPV C500 via VPN to my workplace.. We are using a SonicWall firewall at our workplace and the Client software that comes with it to connect remotely. In order to get connected via VPN from my SPV, I have entered the following VPN parameters in ‘VPN Connections’ on my smartphone: VPN type: IPSec/L2TP Server: The IP address for the peer Connects from: The Internet Connects to: The Internet User Name: N/A Password: N/A Domain: N/A IPSec authentication: Pre-Shared Key IPSec Pre-shared Key: I entered the correct key here User Name/Password/Domain were not completed as they weren’t required and therefore not set at the SonicWall. I also set the ‘Access point’ to ‘internetvpn’ in ‘Orange GPRS’ of ‘GPRS Connections’. I have set up an e-mail account on the SPV, which account get dealt with at the e-mail server on the VPN. When I try to do a ‘send/receive’ I am getting the following error message: ‘The following errors occurred while sending and receiving mail: An error occurred while downloading messages. Verify that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct and then try again.’ I have checked the settings over and over again, but without any success. By the way, my SPV is set up for GPRS and VPN by Orange. Can anybody help here?
Guest gavdv Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I've had problems connecting all of the SPV series to my workplace! Using PPTP over the internetvpn GPRS access point. I have posted messages on the Orange Partner / Orange Developers forum, but had no response!
Guest Dade Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Does the VPN connection actually establish?
Guest blowdart Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 You realise that, at least on "personal" accounts, orange block all the common VPN ports over GPRS?
Guest Dade Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 They dont actually block the VPN ports, its to do with the NAT that takes place over the 'normal' gprs connection.
Guest martin Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Here's a previous topic for C500 and VPN connection. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1134...6&highlight=vpn Hopefully it might help.
