Guest emsilva Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Hi there, I am trying to sync time using activesync. My Mpx220 is set to Brasilia timezone, I am sure my computer is set to Brasilia as well. But for some WEIRD reason my mpx is always 1 hour ahead of my Computer! Any idea of why this happens and how to correct it? I googled for this, and found some "tips" that did not work: - Check / Uncheck "Automatic active DST changes" on windows. - Change timezone settings on outlook. (Its the correct setting)
Guest grindoc Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I have the same problem. I use the Mitac Mio 8390. Everyting was working fine and syncing well until tonight. my phone was mistakenly put into a hard reset and after that when I sync the times are off. For instance, if I make an appointment at 1 pm on my PC it shows up as 2pm on my phone. is that the same problem you have had? I have not been able to figure it out....
Guest emsilva Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 I guess I know what is going on... As there is no DST configuration to be done in our smartphones, I think windows mobile has hardcoded the begin/end date of the dst for the timezones which the DST happens. Here in Brazil, we changed the begining of our dst this year, it is only going to start November 2nd. The phone thinks I am in DST when I am not. I can't just change the timezone in my phone, because I have appointments (I use mnotes) in almost 5 timezones... and it would fix one and screw the rest. Any developer around knows how to change the begin/end date of dst's on the phone? Is there a REGISTRY key with this information? The worse part is that I called Motorola, letting then know about that, and they said: Well, if you are right, you will have to live with it until November 2nd. Nice, huh?
Guest grindoc Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 thanks for that. I use a Mitac Mio 8390. somehow I took your advice and set it one hour back even though in Arizona we never change our clocks but the phone did not know that. so I then manually changed my clock back to the correct time here. so for now it is working. thank you
Guest emsilva Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Its confirmed. Today after clocks were changed my MPX220 is behaving correcly. I wish I knew how to change the hard coded values of beginning/end of the DST for my timezone. Regards,
Guest grindoc Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 how long have you been using the Mpx220? how do you like it? -grindoc
