Guest sbsdegb1 Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I have just received a C500 from Orange. I have unlocked it and now have my O2 sim working in it. However does anyone have all the correct settings for O2 such as GPRS,WAP,MMS. I have used the ones I have found on the web but still can't get MMS and Internet Explorer to work. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
Guest David5093 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Im in the same boat as you, ive put the settings in that i got from coolsmartphon -> http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...temid=3&topid=5 but i cant get it to work yet, anyone with their C500 working on O2 lend a hand? One more thing in Data connections -> menu -> edit connections -> GPRS connections there is Orange GPRS/MMS/WAP each only contain connect to information and an access point. When configuring settings from coolsmartphone it doesn't suggest similar settings for O2 only a GPRS profile that contains IP addresses and the likes. Anyone know the purpose of these 3 Orange profiles that contain only a little infomration in each Dave
Guest Confucious Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 All sorts of settings and what they mean can be found here. HTH ^_^
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 I have tried the settings from most websites including the one you have linked to. However either I am doing something wrong or it just doesn't work. I have even deleted all of the Orange data connections just in case of a conflict. I have also heard that the SPV range cannot receive MMS messages. It can send on O2 but cannot receive. Is this correct. So if anyone has all the settings for the C500 O2 Contract (not Pay as you go) that actually work could they please let me have them and I will be a very happy chappy.
Guest David5093 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Yeah ive also tried all those sites, im gonna have another go at it today though and see how it goes
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Let me know how you get on as I have tried many times now and can't get it to work. Managed to get it all working on my E200 except for MMS but not on the C500. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Guest martin Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 sbsdegb1 I have sent you a PM. I don't know if it will help or not ^_^
Guest David5093 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Could that PM also possible help me?
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 sbsdegb1 I have sent you a PM. I don't know if it will help or not ^_^ Martin You are a star. That worked a treat. Now have internet access via GPRS and the mms I had received has now be downloaded. Thanks a million.
Guest martin Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Glad to help ^_^ Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Confucious Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Glad to help ^_^ Posted from my SmartPhone! Then why not post settings / stepby step guide here to help others?
Guest martin Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Then why not post settings / stepby step guide here to help others? Because I wasn't too sure if it would work or not. There can be many issues other than the phone settings so it's easier to test by PM. Unfortunately there still seems to be a problem with prepaid but I'm trying to find out why before posting.
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 If anyone wants the settings Martin sent me then let me know and I will PM then. I am sure Martin will post them once he has sorted out the issues with prepaid. Once again thanks Martin.
Guest cydroid Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 I received my C500 yesterday and am on O2. If you could PM the settings Martin gave you I would be most gratefull. Thanks

Guest David5093 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 For all of you's looking for phone settings for UK networks and also some foreign then check here, you can install the files on the phone, in .cab format http://www.clubimate.com/index.asp?PageAct...=DEVICE_SP3_UPD
Guest cydroid Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Thanks Martin, all is working now.
Guest Confucious Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 David5093 - would be great but you have to have an i-mate to sign up. They won't let you join with a C500 which is what most people in the UK will have
