Copying files to Storage Card - Takes ages...

...I use my SPV C500 to play MP3s with a typical size of around 100+ MB. Thing is, it takes ages (typically 15 mins) to copy over using ActiveSync (using USB2.0), and it also freezes in the background.

The progress bar also lies!

Anything I can do - or be aware of?

Get a card reader for £10 and use a Mini SD adaptor so that you can copy direct to the Mini Sd card from your computer. MUCH quicker.

I am also a bit underwhelmed by the file transfer rate using the mini USB cable. We had a bit of a discussion about it in http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=115586

The card reader solution is the fastest way.

Having just bought one, I'd like to recommend the following card reader.

* ONLY takes SD/MMC cards, which means it's tiny;

* it's USB2.0, which means it's blazingly fast; MP3s transfer at the rate of one-a-second (for a 4Mb MP3);

* it's cheap (£10);

* it's driver-free under WinXP, as all (?) card readers are, and

* it's from a decent company (picstop, who have demonstrated excellent customer service to me).
