Hi guys!

Ive been thinking for a long time on buying the Qtek 8010/ SPV C500. It has all the software I need and looks quite good too.

Anyways, so i hear that the 3g net is being expanded here (Norway) and will be active from november.

Now, why would I go and buy a 8010 if i can buy a 3G phone that will let me surf much faster (which is an important feature as im using the internet alot on my phone) and include almost as good software?

I mean dont get me wrong, cuz 8010 seems like the perfect phone if it werent for not including 3g (or wland for that matter).

Been thinking about Sony z1010 or nokia 6630 as an alternative.. any thoughts on these devices?

Any advices / ideas in general?

The problem with 3G at least in this country is that coverage is poor. When connection drops it reconnects to the O2 network

for calls etc.

Personally I would wait to see how good coverage is before buying

as you may be disappointed.

The main problem in the UK is 3's walled garden...

Check out the data costs of 3G, as well as the coverage, before you commit. It may be faster but that means you can end up downloading a lot more data which could end up being very expensive. iof you are just accessing from the phone (and not using the phone as a modem for a laptop) then GPRS spaeeds are usually acceptable for the amount of data omn the small screen and the C500 is a very good choice.

Check out Motorola's A1000 if you do go 3, the Z1010 is an old phone which has only just been released newer and better are coming out but I'd suggest cheking out 3G forums before adopting new technology. www.3g.co.uk host some good forums which are obviously heavily UK biased but probably worth a look.

In the UK I much prefer my C500 on GPRS to anything available on 3G at the moment but that might change with new operators coming on stream.

Good Luck.
