Guest stephen_oliver Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 SPV E200 synching via USB to both a laptop (on Ethernet network) and desktop running XP SP2. Using Exchange 2003 MIS and the SPV is synching Inbox, Calendar and Contacts perfectly, via USB, Bluetooth to the Desktop (but not Laptop) or indeed GPRS - absolutely perfect. Since the last 2 days, however, I have been unable to get the SPV to sync with the local Task folder on either PC by any method. When I connect using USB, I get a connect "beep", then a warning beep and a "Synchronisation Error" message on the PC. PC synchronisation hangs on the SPV. All the while this is going on, the pass through works fine and the SPV synchronises with the server. What is this? I guess that a partnership database somewhere has become corrupted while hacking around trying to get Bluetooth the work to the laptop (it doesn't - serial modem works, but not synch - grrrrr). I have had some weird behaviour with being unable to delete partnerships and recreate using an old name, or deleting a partnership on the laptop only to find it reappearing later after logging off and on again (this is roaming profile behaviour). How can I clear down the partnership database on PC and SPV? Or is there another explanation?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Check your firewall settings, this is the most common cause of sudden Activsync problems.
Guest stephen_oliver Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Very strange. PFIREWALL.LOG shows the port 4000-ish on the desktop PC trying to open a UDP connection on port 161 of a local printer. Why would ActiveSync try to do that?
