I think my daughter has dropped my old spv - There is no blinking light so I don't know if it is charging or synched! firstly, it started spasmodicaly , but then wouldn't start up so I tried a hard reset (onto the canary screen with 'serial' and no number, which I can still do, but got it badly wrong and didn't save anything. Now when I start up I have a blank backlit screen and still no blinking light! Does anyone think there is any any hope????

I would try and Hard reset again.

When you say you have a blank screen do you mean a White screen?

If so you do you have the dummy plastic SD card in the phone? as this will

give this sort of problem.

I have tried a hard reset quite a few times and no I don't have any SD card in the phone.

Place storagge card in the phone, it slows down the process and makes

hard resetting easier.

As above you may need to run the update again, if not on your PC you may need to use a different one.

Have tried storage card in phone but now it will not start - the green light does not come on even when it did start - not even orange light when plugged in. I have not been able to active synch either so cannot run any update??? Do you think it has died?????

You do not need Activsync to run an update, all updates should be run from the canary screen. Activsync is not activated at this level.

I can't even turn the phone on now and when holding down the on button I can hear a regular slow click? :?:

Have you tried charging the phone?

If you want I can have a look at the phone (if you cover postage both ways)

It may be possible to recover the phone, but it's not definate.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

A friend of mine is facing the same problem with SPV!

Is there a solution?

I am going to get it soon in order to try to fix it...

The phone had a component fault where it would not charge due to

trying going straight into the canaryscreen.

This damage appears to have been caused by water damage and even though all corrosion had been removed the fault still remained.
