How do I application unlock my Cingular mpx220? I got it from Best Buy.

It's never app-locked, you can go ahead and install new apps w/o issues.

The MPx220, and ANY OTHER WORLD PHONE from Cingular are not locked in any way application, SIM, or otherwise.

The MPx220 is as unbranded as any branded phone I've ever seen. I don't think there's anything on there that can't be removed or changed.

I'm running the SP version 3.1.0.1077 on my 220 without any issue, may be they changed something in the UPDATED version? I decided to stay at v3 because I have their apps for PPC & Palm as well, just didn't feel the need to upgrade for the moment.

Must have something to do with 4.0. I was able to get the upgrade for $6.95. Can't beat that. Got a msg from MS with a discount code and 3.0 users get it for $16.95 w/o the code. With the code it ended up being $6.95. I've sent them a msg, I'll post the reply when I get it.

Someone on another forum is not able to install the root cert from cacert.org on his 220. I had no problems installing it on mp 200w/2K3. Sound like it's locked a wee bit.
