Guest wasyed Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 does anyone know what kind of paint matches close to the interior paint on the mpx200? I wanna redo some scuffs near where i went to take off the att logo. so anyone have any clue what paint matches closest or hopefully even perfectly??? and also I ordered a display model dummy phone of the mpx200, anyone have a clue if the body is the same as the actual phone?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 The body of a dummy phone should be the same, have a look at my sticky guide in the section for taking the phone apart, hopefully it will save you having problems.
Guest ronny Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 i would suggest you to just use the dummy phone casing. painting the phone case is not that easy, if you did not make the right preparations before painting, you would surely suffer from paint chipoffs which would make the phone look more ugly and of course it would be more prone to scratches.
Guest otacon Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Yup... it's really not advisable to paint your phone... just use a dummy set casing, strip your mpx apart, and then put it into the dummy casing. That would work just fine. However, any of you know where to get the dummy casing? I want to get one too...
Guest wasyed Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I just ordered a dummy case off ebay... so u might wanna check there. or maybe even go to the att store see if they have anymore left because they do sometimes. it turned out to be around 10 bucks. I stripped the phone to prepare and be ready, not that hard at all, THANKS AWARNER! wish me luck! i should have the dummy by thursday hopefully
Guest wasyed Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 ohhh but your in malaysia... this guy on ebay sells world wide ebay dummy case im the current high bidder, i accidently bid on more then one phone so your welcome to outbid me... actually please do if u can i dont really need it since I have another coming on its way
Guest wasyed Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 what a waste of 10 dollars... the whole thing is all plastic and the color of the inside isnt even the same color... its a lighter color. it wont fit at all all the holes are different.. anyone have any suggestions?
Guest ronny Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 buy the original replacement case from authorized motorola dealer.

Guest ronny Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 really? i can do that? well obviously i can but how much would that be? and how? go to Motorola authorized dealers or service centers. and ask them to replace the phone casing. of coarse labor and parts charges will apply, i don't really know how much the phone casing or frame would cost.
