I had an MPx200 last year, and frequently visited MoDaCo. I had loads of problems with it (both hardware and software) so I exchanged it for a Treo 600.

I love my Treo, but it has a poor screen and is a bit on the obese side.

It's upgrade time soon, and Orange have offered me a SPV C500 free of charge. How does it fare in comparison to the MPx200?

Sorry if this has been asked/ answered before.

Edit: Oops! I accidentally pressed the 'big red button'.

The c500 is a vast imporvement over the mpx200, its almost the same size as the mpx200 closed!

Add that to bluetooth, camera and good battery life....

There are also many os fixes/tweaks that make the phone much more user friendly / less irritating

Thanks for the reply squall!

Looks like I'll be getting myself a C500.

One more question: I've read a lot about screen dust issues. Are there any preventative methods?

I upgraded last Monday, received the phone through on the Wednesday. Been holding back singing its praises in case I brought a curse upon myself, but its been over a week now so here goes..

You really do need to get the C500. I have come to this phone via the e100 route and it is SO much better. I am lucky in that I havent had the dust problems, but there is a post saying that HTC will retrofit the necessaries to remove this problem if you do suffer so thats sorted now.

Battery life is unbelievable, I have used it all day (works quiet at the moment) and I have gone down 1 bar. And thats been a lot of use: web, calls, camera, solitaire etc.

Calls are exceptionally clear, signal is really good and its has honestly been a pleasure using this phone. I have just got the Krussel case for it and that takes care of any worries I had about throwing it in my pocket when I need to.

So yes, go for the C500!!
