Guest Pabs(Sco) Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I have a C500 and I have managed to install a few Home Screens and plugins, some games too But I downloaded the iCandy and the Mac OSX home screen and I get the following: Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed b/c it does not have adequate system permissions Is this a plugin issue? I though the C500 did not need to be de-certified (as some older products needed)
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 The C500 comes partially unlocked. Skins that access the registry for start-up / shutdown screens etc require the phone to be fully unlocked. Go here
Guest Pabs(Sco) Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 thx for the quick reply, I'm not sure if I want to unlock my phone :?
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Well, it's free  It's easy to do. I've done it to all my Smartphones, on numerous occasions for each one. It doesn't invalidate your warranty (I've sent unlocked phones back to Orange for replacement without quibbles.) The phone is sufficiently robust and stable for you to be able to throw all sorts of stuff at it, safe in the knowledge that it will still be standing at the end of the day. You'll have to try very hard to properly crash it with unapproved applications, and even then, a hard reset will sort you out. What I'm trying to say is, I don't see any reason not to ^_^
Guest Pabs(Sco) Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 OK, I have tried but the site is not recognising my IMEI number ^_^ I have connected the phone to the internet (using GPRS and passthrough) goint to check the reg tool they have. EDIT: That's my phone unlocked now :?
