o2 xphone - Whacky Joystick Problem

My xphone has a joystick which is not functioning properly for some time. It does not scroll top to bottom i.e when you press the joystick down to scroll down the menus or contacts etc., it does not do it, just stuck. It is however able to scroll bottom to top and sideways as well.

Dunno what the problem here is, has anyone faced this problem? Any input would be appreciated.

My backspace key goes into mental repeat mode whenever I push it. Searching the forums seems that key problems are quite common with the Xphone. Most posts suggest that you need to send it back to O2 for repair although a couple of people seem to have had a bit of success with reflashing the unit.

i think urs is defectice. I had a similar problem, and had to have phone replaced. problem solved
