Guest pizdyetz77 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Hi, I'm desperate to cancel my Orange Care as I object to: 1) the £15 charge I need to pay (had Orange Care long before that came in and I denied receiving notification of those changes) 2) even when the phone that they supplied is faulty and over their "6 month" threshold (argued unfair terms of contract as they sell contracts that are for one year). After a total of an hour and a half of discussing their and my (most of the info having come from Modaco - thanks) interpretation of the Sale of Goods Act we eventually negotiated down to £7.50. Better than nothing I suppose. I'm just glad that calls to 150 are free! Calling back to get a different operator also helped. Anyway - I'm looking for new phone insurance. Can anyone recommend some, please? GH
Guest kyrkesmith Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Yeah, Orange care used to be pretty decent compared to the offerings from The Link and whatever. How about getting it insured on your household insurance? I've got mine insured under "personal possessions outside the house" and it seems to cover most things, is only about £40 a year, and also covers everything else you carry around with you (PDAs, a little bit of cash, cameras etc.). I haven't made a claim yet though, and there's a premium of some sort. Also, doesn't cover phone failure afaik. But perhaps it's worth looking in to?
