Headset for the SMT5600

With the release of the SMT5600 here in the US and none of the accessories (NY State requires handsfree use of cell phones while driving) I'm struggling with the fact that there's not even a simple single ear headset available. The phone comes only with the stereo headset, not usable in a driving scenarion (and the answer/hang up button doesn't even work) and I've already purchased 2 different mfg's 2.5mm headsets which don't appear to be supported with the phone - sound quality is terrible on both ends and answer/hang up button doesn't work).

Does anyone know of any headsets (not bluetooth) that will work with the phone. Calls into ATT and Audiovox have produced no information on when to expect a "certified" headset.
