Guest Chris Bevan Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Is it possible to pick a contact and then text those details to another phone? If so how please?! :?:
Guest James Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 you will need another program to do this called 'RJV SendContact' get it form www.airfagev.com
Guest Chris Bevan Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Downloaded it but doesn't seem to actually run - all it does is place a number of files into folder of choice but no obvious set up file to run. I'm probably being thick but please help!!!
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 This app comes as a cab file, so after downloading to your PC connect with ActiveSync and copy the cab (don't try to unzip first) over to Storage Windows Start Menu Accessories. Now go to the Accessories folder from the Programs menu and click on the cab file's icon and it will unpack and install itself automatically. Did you unzip it PC-side first ?
Guest Chris Bevan Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Thans - yes I was trying to unzip at PC end. Have now installed it on phone and icon appears on Start menu. Unfortunately when you click on that icon it does nothing, nor does an extra alternative of Send Contact appear on dropdown menu when clicking on a particular contact so still struggling with this.......any ideas?? :?
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I think there are 2 versions - one of which is for Smartphone 2003. I think you need the 2002 version. I'm not sure, but you may need some sort of eVB runtime files as well. The forums on www.airfagev.com might be a better source of info for that. Even when it works, SendContact only sends persons name and the mobile number to the recipient. I always thought that was an odd limitation to put on the thing, but hey. If you need to send a complete contact you could try a search for vCard or vcd (I think that's the right file extension, might be vcf though). I vaguely remember some sort of vCard tool, which you might be able to use to create a vCard for a contact and then email the vcd/f file to someone.
