Guest myjess Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 If this has been posted before then apol o gees. Get yersel the great task manager from www.binarys.com. If your video is giving a memory error, then probably it is a memory leak from one of your other programs (MS or 3rd party). In Binarys task manager you can see using the edit button and number 3 that the Phy free memory is probably way down to something like 2MB. I have killed all processes excepty system ones but the memory does not rise by much. Re-powering the phone brought the free memory back up to > 8MB but as soon as I activesync it drops to just over 7MB. The Activesync app on the phone sure uses up a lot of memory! I don't know if there is a CLR(.NET type thingy) on the phone but I thought that the garbage collection would free up the memory if the unavailable memory was not being used any more. But perhaps some of the apps were not written with .NET and that is why there are memory leaks. Anyone know of a way to make the phone give back this memory (this is not memory taken by e-mails etc) or a way to make the phone do a really fast reboot, at the mo, the phone takes nearly as long as my XP box to reboot.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I use I-menu for faster rebooting
Guest sparkisgti Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 you dont need to download other apps to kill tasks, thats why u have task manager
