C500 Backlight Dimming?

Is there an option / known app that enables the dimming of the (very bright) backlight? The illumination is great for every day use, but using it in dim light for reading ebooks etc. is a killer on the eyes!

The only solution I have found so far is to tilt the screen away slightly!

The Backlight seems to have two stages; the bright light goes out after a short while and then the slightly dimmer 'second level' back lighting cuts out altogether after a short while longer. I would be happy to keep the lighting at this 'second level' permanently if possible.

Most phone with this type of screen have a contrast / brightness option in the menus but I have yet to find it on the C500.

Any ideas?

Dont think you can adjust the contrast on the backlight mate, sorry. Only answer would be a third party app or registery tweak, but I know of no such prog.
