Guest afhstingray Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 It just wont change...i tried disconnecting the headset, turning of bluetooth, restarting the phone..it did not work HELP
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I've not heard of this happening with the C500 but it was a 'classic' bug of the original SPV. There's a switch inside the headphone socket that sometimes gets stuck. Simply blow sharply into the socket and see if that clears it. You could also try poking a matchstick in there but I wouldn't personally for obvious reasons.
Guest afhstingray Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 im using a bluetooth headset!!
Guest afhstingray Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 it knows the headset is gone when i disconnect it, the icon is gone, but i cant switch the profile from "headset"
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Hmmm... Have a read of this thread and see if it helps : http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ghlight=profile
Guest afhstingray Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 ok, i'll try the resetting profiles thing,
Guest afhstingray Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 ok it still dosent work. what do i do now?
Guest watsonbj Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem with the Headset being stuck. I've tried a 'hard reset' and all of the above (except the matchstick, lol). Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? What was the 'classic bug' on the SPV that was referred to above? Presumably I could expect Orange to replace the phone if its a design flaw? Many thanks in advance, Bernard
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 So even after a Hard Reset the phone stays in Headset profile? that should not be possible :? Did you ue Clear Storage in Accessories befor doing the hard reset?
Guest watsonbj Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Yep.. even after a hard reset... (though I must admit I didn't 'clear storage'. I'll try this and see if it makes a difference). I seemed to get it back to the 'Normal profile' by dialing a number and then press the call key. I understand this forces the phone into 'speakerphone'.... but after hanging up the 'Normal profile' was ticked. I thought this had solved it but when I powered off and on again, the problem returned. I'll try clearing storage and a hard reset (thanks for the advice) and will let the board know how I get on. Cheers
Guest Chaser81 Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I have exactly the same problem with mine. NOT happy that this simple design flaw hasnt been fixed for the C500.
Guest zoegod Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 yikes! even my dream phone c500 has this bug!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 If a hard reset does not work then it can only be a hardware fault and will need replacing
Guest afhstingray Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 yea its a problem wit the rom now i updated, no problems .
