Guest bthurgood3 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I can't get my SMT 5600 to do an application unlock. I've tried the OTA (won't work in the USA) , and the Orange unlocker files that you place in the "start menu" and "Temp" file. The program said that the security was removed and unlocked but it still won't allow me to customize my phone. Does anyone have any ideas to help? Thanks!!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Your second method worked for me.
Guest Confucious Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Try downloading ResetSecurity.zip from this thread and following the instructions.
Guest TEXMudder Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I downloaded and installed that program. It worked in some ways and not in others. I can now have mods like SpeedyMenus and SpeedyBoost. I still have some software complaining about certificates. Heck I'm just happy to have the Speedy mods.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 It will st6ill warn once about untrusted sources...but you are not limited in any way.
Guest bthurgood3 Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I can get HME.files to work but not XML. files that I'm trying to use as skins. I got them to work on the Orange ROM but I can't get them to go on the SMT5600 ROM. The phone says it's application unlocked if that helps...
Guest TEXMudder Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Even after it looks like its completed installing software, some stuff still wont install. If I knew a way to take a screen capture I would post it here for you.

Guest bthurgood3 Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 I've downloaded various skins from this website in XML format, I put them in the the home folder and then select them in the setting as a home screen. The home screen then says "no homescreen layouts can be found. Install a valid home screen layout and select it using the Home Screen item in Settings." This process worked with the Orange Rom and also HME files. I can't figure out what the problem is. Thanks for your help!
