Hi guys!

I'm looking at getting my first smart phone and it was a choice between the Mpx220 and the C500.

As the mpx220 is crap, I decided to go for the C500. I went to the orange shop and asked for a demo and was very impressed.

So before I purchase it can you answer me a few Questions:

1. How do you find Orange as a network provider? Is the reception good?

2. I was thinking of getting it with a 4mb bundle, is this enough for a bit of surfing and MSN?

3. I hear there is a problem with dust under the screen, is this true?

4. The 16mb sd card, its preloaded with trial apps, right? Can you delete these and use it for memory?

5. What is the build quality like over time? Any noticable of wear?

Cheers!

1 reception is good. But as with any networkI'm sure there are areas where it is not so good.

2 4Mb is probably not going to be enough. Get a months trial of unlimited usage and download All-locations GPRS counter to see how much you use . I used 10Mb in my first month so have cut back. After the first month you can select the plan that suits you.

3 There was a problem with some phones. HTC (who make the C500) have a fix for it so new ones *should* be OK. If you are unlucky it can be fixed.

4 Yes you can delete the stuff on the card - but you will probably want a bigger card anyway.

5 no sign of weear on mine .

You might like to consider buying from Orange on the internet - the voice plans seem to be a lot better than you get in the shops (I get 120 x-net anytimne mins and 30 texts for £15/month)

well my friend,

i am not happy with the wear factor!! i have had my fone now for 3 months, and i would say i am a medium user.

and i have almost worn all the paint of the main function key!

other than that and now the orange rom update has been released, i love my fone that little bit more!!

i will be sending my fone back to HTC for a new housing to be fitted!!
