Guest iainp999 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 hi chaps, a friend is able to get a contract 6230 and C500, both on orange. she wants to swap the sim from the 6230 into the SPV (so an orange contract SIM in the SPV) and stick a PAYG SIM from virgin into the 6230. please don't ask why since it's quite a lengthy explanation :-) any issues here? the 6230 need unlocking somehow? TIA Iain
Guest farq001 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Hi Iain, I had a contract Orange 6230 before I got my C500. I just swopped the SIM from the 6230 straight into the C500 - worked fine. However I did have to phone Orange who sent me a SIM update which configured all the GPRS and MMS settings etc. They were quite happy to do this and I had no problems. As for using a Virgin SIM in the 6230 - well if the phone is from Orange it will be locked to their network, so unfortunately you will need get it unlocked. Hope this helps. cheers Andy.

Guest maxmix Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I can unlock your 6230 via email if you are stuck (quick freebie).... and if the worst comes to the worst... The C500 can be done online to accept your Virgin SIM... Costs £20 If you need the link for this LMK  maxmix PS My C500 is working great on Vodafone, inc Wap etc.... Got all the settings on here :D
