Guest waroffice Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 is it possible, to link my phone to my Office LAN using bluetooth and get access to a database i keep on the network, i could use a webpage to show database but dont want to spend all day on internet, if i could access the webpage via the local network that would be very usefull Cheers
Guest yarod_g14 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Hmmm, I havn't heard annything about this for smartphone, the Bluetooth stack doesnt support the correct profile and only shows as a slave or something. I had the same issue with my pocket pc, luckly I found a new bluetooth stack from www.Widcomm.com This allowed me to set up a PAN between the PPC and my gaming PC. As my internet access is on another machine on my network I had to set up a PAN through my LAN to access the WAN I thought I was the MAN!! Maybe if you check out widcomms site they might have plans or links or something to get this going for smartphones...... It's well worth getting a Pocket PC phone if you need this sort of thing I get steaming Divx AVi's encoded at errr well good encoding in my bedroom from my PC downstairs.
