Guest smorrow Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Hope someone can help me! I'm trying to get ActiveSync to work over a Bluetooth connection. I've read all the existing posts and can't find a working solution. I've spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Orange 3rd line and they've not been able to solve it so far - although they've promised to test and get back to me. I think my problem stems from my SPV C500 not "offering" a Serial Port connection as one it's available Bluetooth Services when I Pair it with my laptop. I've tried with both the Dell supplied drivers for my TrueMobile Bluetooth card and the new XP Pro SP2 native windows Bluetooth drivers. As a comparison, when I pair my old SonyEricsson T610, I see 2 serial port services mapped to 2 corresponding COM ports. These are a couple of comparative screen shots: Screenshot of the SPV C500 Services: Screenshot of the T610 Services:
Guest Confucious Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I assume you are using SP2? Have you enabled the com ports on the phone? (Start->Configuration-> BT SerialPortSetup ? Under BT Devices on the PC the third tab is COM ports. Add an incoming and outgoing Port for the c500. Turn off BT on the phone. Reboot PC. Turn on BT on the phone Connect ActiveSync via BT from phone. HTH
Guest smorrow Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Confucious - I have it working - thank you!!! I decided to start afresh and de-installed all the Bluetooth software from my PC. After re-installing, I then followed your instructions above. I now have a phone that syncs very efficiently over Bluetooth. I am running Windows XP Pro with the Service Pack 2. Thanks for your support.
