Guest fridge2k2 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I got my 5600 unlocked (Thanks florin!) and I put in my T-Mobile SIM card, heres where the problems start. First off on my homescreen it says the network is Cingular. I know T-Mobile can roam on Southern California Cingular (its happened on my T-Mobile phone) but when I try to add T-Mobile to the Networks I cannot. Can someone please help me? I also have the roaming triangle up in the top so thats not good either. I have an old SIM card, its about 1 year old. I'm gonna go to T-Mobile and get an updated one. My buddy has a new T-Mobile SIM and I tried his last night and it still didnt work right. Is there anything else I need to do to make this phone connect to T-Mobile towers?
Guest five337 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 You are not alone. I have the same problem. MPX-200 shows as T-Mobile WITH roaming triangle MPX-220 shows as T-Mobile WITHOUT roadming triangle V600 shows as T-Mobile SMT5600 shows as Cingular WITH roaming triangle When I call 611 with my SMT5600 I get T-Mobile, so I am pretty sure I am registered on T-Mobile's network - I just think it is a software issue with the carrier numbers. Anyone have any ideas ??
Guest fridge2k2 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 alright, if it cant be discussed in here can someone please just send me an email to fridge2k(at)yahoo(dot)com please. Thanks!
Guest dapunk Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Hey Fridge, I have problems too and i just posted a new topic about it, but maybe you can help or maybe someone else can too! my phone seemed to be working fine for the first few days but now i seem to lose the network at random times after i have not been on for a while, do you have this prob? do you know of a fix? can anyone help? BTW I am using the imate SP3
Guest sclui56 Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 You get the Cingular & triangle is becuase of the 850 band, don't worry about it, happens on my Voq A11 as well.
Guest spindle Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 What bothers me is that the phone can't seem to detect the Tmobile network in my neighborhood. When I look under settings/phone/network and search for new network, I can see att and cingular but tmobile isn't even listed. I hope we can find a software solution to this... I posted the following in another thread before seeing this one: I unlocked my 5600 using Florin's site yesterday, but I can't seem to connect to tmobile (California) by using my girlfriend's sim card. All I can get in the setup/phone/network menu when I try to look for new networks is Cingular and AT&T, no Tmobile; eventhough her phone finds the network easily in our house. Is there something I need to do to get the phone to find the tmobile network? Is there something in the phone that's preventing me from connecting to other networks besides att and cingular? Thanks for all the hard work Florin, it's much appreciated... Anyone with any idea how to get it to work?
Guest dapunk Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Spindle, that is the same prob i have with my SP3 it does not list Tmobile but it selects cingular and my phone works anyway. except for the prob i mentioned that it seems to lose the netowork when i dont make a call for a while. i hope someone can solve our dilemma, i have a call into T-mobile to see if they can help.
